AHCS meetings always feel like a mix of a rescue mission, a science fair, and a retro arcade and this month delivered on all fronts.We rehomed a bunch of rescued systems, including a one‑of‑a‑kind Reynolds & Reynolds TC1000 that sparked plenty of “wait… what IS that?” reactions.Other highlights include:- a FujiNet cross play demo of Battleship with an Atari 130XE, a Tandy CoCo 2, an Apple IIc, a Windows 98 laptop, and an iPad.- an oscilloscope turned into a multi‑OS retro computer.- a micro PC running Windows 95 on Linux for retro FPS LAN fun.- a new member displayed their retro setup with GTA.- a DOS‑compatible PC built from a microcontroller.The top moment though might have been when an Osborne blew a RIFA. This past week, Apple celebrated 50 years. In celebration, we assisted the Georgia Tech Library by restoring their Apple IIe, loaning them an Apple-1 replica, and providing a working Apple II Plus as an exhibit for students to explore and experience for all of April.
