Weather update – December meeting cancelled!

Even in my area in west Cobb, the forecast does not indicate it will stop snowing until 6am tomorrow morning.  I’m sure there are those of you who live in areas with much higher impact from what most Northerners would call a ‘light dusting’ that will have a worse situation than I tomorrow morning.  Remember it’s not the people who know how to drive on wet/icy roads, it’s those who do not.  Better safe than sorry so let’s cancel the December meeting tomorrow.

Be safe, drive save, watch out for those who don’t, and have a fantastic Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year, or vintage computing anniversary you are nerdy enough to know!  And remember, Baby Jesus’ first computer was definitely a Tandy.

Thanks,

Alan Hightower

August 12, 2017 Meeting…

While we didn’t meet in July, we ARE meeting in August in a brand new location  – the future home of the Computer Museum of America.  The address is 5000 Commerce Pkwy, Roswell GA, 30076.  It was the old Burlington Coat Factory.  It is on the lower level, go to the back of the building facing Commerce street.  The entrance we are to use is under the Roswell Town Center sign.  It is the same entrance for Whirlyball and War Games Laser Tag. Once you enter the building, suite 5000 will be on your right. We will be demoing some of the recent rescued gear including some items picked up from the TRS auction.   There will be another “free” pile of things (Earl and John both are bringing stuff).   We will also be discussing the upcoming Vintage Computer Festival – Midwest; which also happens to conflict with our September meeting.  And we will be organizing the new space and making it feel like home-sweet-home. There will ALSO be a special give-away starting this month.  Earl has gotten us signed up with Jet Brains and we will have the first two license give aways this month (up to $150 value if you win and decide to get IntelliJ). The meeting will be during our usual hours of 1pm to 5pm.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
